AI video production with a filmmaker's eye
With AI, almost any idea can be made. It takes the right eye to make it good, and ours comes from film and video production.
MAD MIRROR STUDIOS produces AI videos, AI commercials and hybrid films from real footage and AI, for brands, hotels, beach clubs and events in Ibiza, Barcelona and beyond. For Tantra and Rigatoni in Ibiza we joined reels shot on camera with AI transitions; for the Chamelo Eyewear commercial we generated every frame with AI and cut it into a film by hand.

Chamelo Eyewear: a commercial without a camera
For the commercial of Chamelo Eyewear, a brand of sunglasses whose lenses change tint at the touch of a button, MAD MIRROR STUDIOS generated every frame with AI in 2026, without camera, crew or travel. Concept and storyboard, picking the shots, editing, sound and color grading were done by hand, as on any film. In 43 seconds the glasses travel from the beach through cherry blossoms to an evening at Vanilla Beach in Ibiza, with a chameleon as the brand character guiding the spot. Shot the classic way, that would have taken many locations, several seasons and an animal on set.

Generated
GeneratedHybrid: real meets AI
Shot where it has to be real. Generated where the camera stops.
The best results often come from the mix. Real footage carries faces, product and place, everything trust depends on. AI carries the rest: transitions, scale, weather, season, the impossible. Because we do both ourselves, light, color and rhythm match.

How we combine them
Real scenes, AI transitions
Every shot is filmed, the transitions pull one scene into the next. That gives reels a look of their own, as with Tantra and Rigatoni.
Real product, generated world
The product is filmed or photographed so logo, material and function are right. The world around it comes from AI.
Every season, one shoot day
One shoot in May, footage for high summer, sunset or winter. For hotels, beach clubs and anything that sells by season.
Shots nobody else gets
Aerials where no drone may fly, camera moves physics won't allow, people in places no crew travels to.
The eye behind it
Why AI video needs a film crew
AI delivers an image in seconds. Whether it's the right one is a call for the eye: focal length, light, movement, continuity, rhythm. You learn that on set and in the edit, not in a prompt: we learned it on brand films for Vanilla Beach Ibiza, Catalina Gavà Mar and Club de Golf Alcanada and on productions for ZDF and 3sat. That's why we can make almost anything with AI and it still looks like film.
Visual language
We think in shots, focal lengths and camera moves. That's how an AI film looks shot, not generated.
Continuity
The same character, the same product, the same light in every scene. Continuity is AI's biggest hurdle and everyday work in the edit suite.
Edit, sound and color
Rhythm, sound design, music and color grading turn clips into a film. We do all of it ourselves, as on every production.
A critical eye
Wrong hands, floaty physics, a warped logo: we spot what's off before your audience does, and regenerate until it's right.
The craft from our films shot on camera
Three ways to a film
No camera, hybrid or AI in post-production
Not every film needs a camera, and not every film should do without one. We pick the way by what your film has to show.
No camera
No camera, no crew, no travel: every frame is made with AI. Concept, storyboard, selection, editing, sound design and color grading we do by hand, as on any film. That's how the Chamelo spot was made.
Best for
- product spots and commercials
- worlds that don't exist
- animals and characters in the lead
- mood films and pitches
- Our strength
Hybrid: real shoot plus AI
We shoot what has to be real: people, product, place. AI delivers what no shoot day can: transitions, other seasons and times of day, extended sets, scenes in places no crew travels to. That's how the reels for Tantra and Rigatoni were made.
Best for
- event reels for social media
- brand films and corporate films
- hotels and beach clubs out of season
- products in many worlds
AI in post-production
Your existing footage goes further: extend sets, remove distractions, swap skies and backgrounds, add formats from 16:9 to 9:16 and build variants for social ads.
Best for
- refreshing existing films
- vertical from horizontal
- variants for A/B tests
- fixes without a reshoot
Honest advice
AI or a shoot? Our honest recommendation
Not every project gets better with AI. Here's where it saves you effort and where a shoot day is the better choice.
| What your film has to show | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Real people: testimonials, founders, your team | Shoot | Trust comes from real faces. AI can add to that, not replace it. |
| Events and nights for social media | Hybrid | Shot for real so the night is real, AI transitions for a look of its own. That's what we did for Tantra and Rigatoni in Ibiza. |
| Your product in detail: logo, material, function | Hybrid | We film the product for real so every detail is right. We generate the world around it. |
| Worlds that don't exist: fantasy, animals in the lead, trips through the seasons | AI | What no set can build is made without a camera, like the Chamelo spot. |
| Many variants for social ads and tests | AI or hybrid | One concept becomes versions for formats, audiences and markets, without another shoot day. |
| Documentary and reportage | Shoot | What matters here is what really happened. AI at most for clean-up in post. |
| Pitch, mood film or previs before a big shoot | AI | Seeing the film first means faster decisions and a shoot day that lands. |
Process
How your AI film comes together
Four steps, as on any production. The difference: you see the look before anything moves.
- 01
Briefing and route
Goal, audience, channels. Then we tell you honestly whether AI without a camera, hybrid or a classic shoot fits best.
- 02
Storyboard and look
Treatment, storyboard and stills in the final look. The direction gets decided while changes are still cheap.
- 03
Shoot and generation
On hybrid projects we shoot first. Then come the AI shots, many variants per shot, picked with a director's eye.
- 04
Edit, sound and delivery
Editing, sound design, music and color grading as on any film. Delivered in 4K and in every format from 16:9 to 9:16.
Always included
- Concept, treatment and storyboard
- Stills in the final look before anything moves
- AI scenes, combined with a real shoot if you like
- Editing, sound design and color grading
- Delivery in 4K and every format from 16:9 to 9:16
- Every AI part named on delivery, for your labels
What is AI video production?
AI video production means that images, motion, transitions or whole scenes of a film are created with generative AI instead of a camera. For us it's part of a normal film production: concept, storyboard, direction, editing, sound and color grading stay craft, and AI replaces the camera, the set or individual shots.
Is an AI video cheaper than a shoot?
Often, yes, because camera, crew, travel and sets drop away, especially with many locations. It isn't automatic: a good AI film needs a concept, many passes per shot and real post-production. You get a fixed quote up front, with no hidden costs.
Can you tell that an AI video was made with AI?
Not when it's done well: with direction, strict selection and post-production, an AI film looks shot. Badly made AI shows at once, in shifting faces, wrong hands and physics that don't add up. We still don't hide it: on delivery we tell you which parts were made with AI.
Do I have to label AI videos?
Yes, if they resemble real people, places, objects or events and could pass as real: the EU AI Act (Article 50) has required that since 2 August 2026. For evidently artistic or fictional work, a notice that doesn't get in the way of the work is enough, and Instagram, TikTok and YouTube have their own rules for realistic AI content. On delivery we name every AI part for you; labelling on publication is up to you (T&C § 10). This isn't legal advice.
What rights of use do I get for an AI video?
The same as with every film we make: unlimited in time and territory for your own advertising and communication, including paid online ads; TV, cinema, outdoor and print by agreement. One difference from a shoot: under current law, purely AI-generated content may not be protected by copyright, so we don't promise exclusivity for it. We only use AI services whose terms allow commercial use, and we don't recreate well-known people, brands or protected characters without permission.
Can real people or our product appear in an AI film?
Yes, best as a hybrid: we film or photograph people and product for real and place them in generated scenes. People only with their consent. For faces that have to look the same across many scenes, a short shoot is usually more reliable than pure AI.
How long does an AI production take?
Often less than a classic shoot, because location scouting, travel and shoot days drop away. Most of the time goes into concept, selection and post-production, in other words the craft. You get the exact schedule with the concept, before we start.
How many rounds of changes are included?
Two rounds of changes per deliverable, unless the quote says otherwise. On AI films we settle the direction beforehand with the storyboard and stills in the final look, so the rounds on the finished film aren't spent on basic questions.
Which AI tools do you use?
With AI services for image, video and sound whose terms allow commercial use. We decide on the model shot by shot, because models change faster than any website. What counts is what comes after: selection, compositing, editing, sound and color grading.
Where do you produce?
Anywhere, because AI productions aren't tied to a place. For hybrid projects we shoot where the real thing is: in Ibiza, where we're on site regularly during the season, in Barcelona, where our studio is, in Mallorca and Menorca, where we come for shoots, and across Spain and Germany. We work with you in German, English or Spanish, and subtitles and voice-over come in the languages of your markets.
