The Ibiza season typically runs from late March to mid October. When beach clubs, hotels and restaurants should plan, shoot and post content for 2027.

The Ibiza season typically runs from late March to mid October, with high season from June to September. In 2026 the first hotels opened from 27 March and the clubs from 24 to 26 April; the closing weekend was 9 to 11 October. For 2027 the first hotels are expected to open in mid to late March, around Easter on 28 March; the exact opening dates usually come out in mid December (the 2026 calendar was public on 10 December 2025). Content for the season therefore has to be ready before the first guests book, not once they arrive.

In Ibiza, a few months hold what other places spread over twelve, and that is exactly why content so often fails here: in July nobody has time for a shoot, in January nobody thinks about reels. This calendar lays out which content should be made in which month. It is based on our work in Ibiza since 2023 for beach clubs, hotels, restaurants and clubs such as Vanilla Beach, Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa with its restaurant UNIC, Tantra and Rigatoni. During the season we are on the island regularly, several times for regular clients; planning happens from Barcelona.

The 2026/27 calendar at a glance

For the 2027 season the sequence looks like this; opening and closing dates are typical values, not fixed dates:

    • October to December 2026: season review, budget, briefing. The 2027 opening dates are expected in mid December.
    • January and February 2027: brand film, website, photos of renovations and new rooms, recruiting content for seasonal staff.
    • March 2027: new images online, shoot before the hotel opening; the first hotels open around Easter (28 March).
    • April 2027: shoot before the opening for clubs and beach clubs, which typically open from late April; season-opening ads are running.
    • May 2027: shoot with guests and without crowds, reel stock for June to September.
    • June to September 2027: post from the stock, short shooting blocks for events and sunsets.
    • Late September to mid October 2027: shoot the closings, recap film for winter bookings.

October to December: review, budget, plan

The new season starts in autumn. Hotels and beach clubs in Ibiza typically plan their budgets between October and December, and by mid December the opening dates for the next year are usually set. That is the moment for three decisions: what brought bookings this season and what didn't? Which big pieces need redoing, such as brand film, website or photos? And who delivers the ongoing content from May? Villas run on an earlier clock: top estates are often booked 12 to 18 months ahead, so their images for next summer have to convince by the autumn before.

January to March: produce the big pieces

Winter is the time for everything that needs calm: the brand film, the new website, photos of renovations and new rooms, recruiting content for the seasonal staff hired from February. The light is soft, the island empty, and the team has time to stand in front of the camera. Whatever needs guests in the picture waits for the season; everything else gets made now. Hotels that open around Easter need their new images online in early March, because guests look before they book. Make the big pieces in winter and the season only needs top-ups.

Late March to May: openings and the pre-season shoot

From late March the first hotels open, and clubs and beach clubs typically follow from late April. This is the most important shooting block of the year, and it has two parts. In the days before the opening, when menu, team and decor are ready but no guests are there yet: food and drink photos with the new menu, portraits of the team, drone shots of the empty beach, the clip for the opening. And in May, when the venue is running but there is still room: scenes with guests and the reel stock for June to September. One or two shooting days in this window deliver most of what gets posted during the season.

High season: a crowd holds up dozens of phones at a sunset by the sea, a small sun on every screen

June to September: post, don't produce

In high season content should come from the stock, topped up by what only exists now: events, guests, sunsets with a full house, reactions to what is happening. For regular clients we are on the island regularly in these months and shoot short blocks of two to three hours, early in the morning, at golden hour or at night, because at midday neither light nor guests play along. For Tantra Ibiza, two hours on camera during a club night, from the door via the terrace into the club, were enough for a 54-second reel and 12 stills. The rhythm that has proven itself: three to five reels a week from stock and current material, plus stories from the team on site.

Vanilla Beach shows what this can deliver: the 2026 social media management brought over 500,000 impressions in 60 days, and in the second month 1,000 impressions cost 20% less than in the first.

The morning after the season ends: a cracked mirror ball lies in wet sand among confetti and paper cups

September and October: closings and the film for next year

Hotels close from late September, many in the first half of October; in 2026 the closing weekend was 9 to 11 October. The closings are the second big shoot of the year: full houses, a team in sync after a season, guests who want to come back. Out of it come the recap film that drives bookings in winter, the thank-you to the team for LinkedIn and recruiting, and the basis for next year's pre-sale campaign. Shoot in October and you have something to show in January.

Three rules for shooting on the island

What we have learned in Ibiza since 2023:

    • Shoot early or late. Between eleven and five the light is harsh and the beach full; the best shots happen in the two hours after sunrise and before sunset. That is why we photographed the pool and outdoor areas at Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa at blue hour.
    • Settle permits beforehand. Drones fall under the rules of the Spanish aviation authority AESA and the island's protected zones, beaches and nature parks under the municipality and the Consell. We plan for that in preparation, not on the shooting day.
    • Plan with the wind. What is impossible on an afternoon with tramontana in Ibiza takes twenty minutes the next morning. Every schedule therefore has a back-up day.

    Frequently asked questions

When does the 2027 Ibiza season start?

The 2027 Ibiza season is expected to start in mid to late March, when the first hotels open around Easter (28 March 2027); the clubs typically follow from late April. The exact opening dates usually come out in mid December. For comparison: in 2026 the first hotels opened from 27 March, the clubs from 24 to 26 April.

When does the Ibiza season end?

The Ibiza season typically ends in mid October: hotels close from late September, many in the first half of October. In 2026 the closing weekend was 9 to 11 October.

When do I have to enquire for it to be ready for the season?

Ideally by December, by February at the latest: in December the opening dates are set, and that is when we assign the shooting dates for February to April. For social media management through the season, March is enough; for a brand film and website in winter, ideally the autumn before.

    Are you permanently in Ibiza?

No, we're in Ibiza regularly during the season, several times for regular clients, and plan from Barcelona. For projects with a fixed shooting block we travel in specifically; for retainer clients the shooting days are scheduled in advance.

How much content does a beach club need per season?

For three to five reels a week from May to September, a beach club needs around 65 to 110 clips, plus stories and photos. About two thirds can be cut from two shooting days before and at the start of the season and one in July; the rest comes from events and current material.

    What about Formentera?

We plan Formentera as a day trip from Ibiza: ferry in the morning, shoot until the afternoon, back with the evening light. The island is smaller and quieter, the rules for beaches and drones are similarly strict.
